Your first Kids Safety course session: learn one rule together

Picture from the Gugiboard Kids Safety course

Families do not need to cover every safety rule in one sitting. The Kids Safety course by Gugiboard offers a picture-led starting point: sit beside your child, choose a familiar situation and talk about one safe action. A short conversation can continue later without a screen.

Choose a familiar picture

The course contains 12 illustrated lessons covering home and street situations. Start with a topic your child recognizes, such as stairs or crossing the street. Look at the whole picture before asking a question. Name the adult, the child and the object, so the rule has a clear setting rather than sounding like an abstract warning.

Listen in your family’s language

Kids Safety includes prepared narration in English, Spanish and Hebrew. Choose the language you use for everyday safety instructions. Listen together at a comfortable volume, or mute the recording if your child needs quiet. Repeat the short message in your own voice and allow time for a gesture, a word or a question.

Notice the safe alternative

Each lesson contrasts danger with a safer action. Ask what changes between the pictures: perhaps an adult arrives or an object is put away. Say what the child can do, not only what to avoid. “Wait here with me” gives a next step. Pointing at the adult is participation; spoken answers are not required.

Stop before it becomes tiring

You can use Next, return Home or stop after one lesson. Playing the whole course leads to Safe or Dangerous after lesson 12, but finishing is optional. Watch for your child looking away or becoming restless. A familiar rule revisited another day is more useful than rushing through pictures while attention has gone elsewhere.

Bring the rule into everyday life

After closing the course, repeat the same words in a safe everyday setting. Before a walk, hold hands at the door; before stairs, wait together. Never create a real hazard to demonstrate the picture. This is a shared conversation tool, not certification, a developmental assessment or a substitute for adult supervision.
