Learning the alphabet with Gugihands: letters, pictures and gestures

Gugihands logo, learning with gestures and voice

The alphabet is the first lesson pack in Gugihands. Each letter sits beside a large picture, and Gugi says the letter and the word clearly.

Letter beside picture

Every card shows a big letter next to an image, like “A is for apple”. Text never covers the picture, on phones or tablets.

English and Spanish have 26 letters; Hebrew uses its own 22-letter alphabet.

Listen, then continue

Gugi reads each card with a natural recorded voice. When the narration ends, Next is highlighted and a thumbs up moves on.

A closed fist asks Gugi to repeat the letter.

Say it out loud

Children can repeat the word aloud. Saying “letters” in the lessons menu opens the alphabet directly.

Cards then flow into animals, colours and the other packs automatically.

At home

Look for the day’s letters around the house after a session. Real objects make the screen learning stick.

Short, frequent sessions work better than long ones.

Try it today

Open gugiboard, choose Gugihands and tap “Tap to start”. Allow the camera and microphone once, then let Gugi explain the gestures before you begin.

Every lesson and game can be reached with pointing, the red finger pointer, a thumbs up or simple voice commands, and bringing both hands together always returns Home.
