The red finger pointer in Gugihands: point, wait and open

Gugihands logo, learning with gestures and voice

The red circle works like a mouse made from your child’s finger. It turns pointing, a natural toddler gesture, into a precise way to choose anything on the screen.

Follow the fingertip

When the camera sees a raised index finger, a red circle appears where the finger points on the screen. Its movement is smoothed so small shakes do not make it jump.

The circle grows a ring while it waits over a button, showing the child that something is about to happen.

Rest to select

Keeping the circle over a button for about a second and a half highlights it in red. Only one button is highlighted at a time.

Moving the finger away for a while clears the selection, so mistakes are easy to undo.

Open with a gesture

A thumbs up, or opening and closing the hand, opens the highlighted button. This acts like a double click and works in menus, lessons and games.

In Pop the balloons, a smaller and faster red dot sits right on the fingertip for quick, accurate popping.

Adult-only controls stay safe

Stop camera and Stop voice cannot be activated by the pointer or gestures. Only a direct touch stops them, so children cannot switch them off by accident.

This keeps the experience running for the child while adults keep full control.

Try it today

Open gugiboard, choose Gugihands and tap “Tap to start”. Allow the camera and microphone once, then let Gugi explain the gestures before you begin.

Every lesson and game can be reached with pointing, the red finger pointer, a thumbs up or simple voice commands, and bringing both hands together always returns Home.
