Magic Lens and animal Characters: become a lion in Gugihands

Gugihands logo, learning with gestures and voice

Magic Lens and Characters show children how the camera sees them, and let them become a friendly animal that copies their face and hands.

Magic Lens

Magic Lens draws the 21 points of each hand, key face points and a mouth outline that grows as the mouth opens. The name of the gesture appears beside the hand.

It is a gentle first look at how computers recognise movement.

Characters

Choose Gugi the chameleon, a lion, dog, cat, monkey, penguin or frog. The animal follows the child’s face: it blinks, turns its head left and right and raises its arms with the child’s hands.

Switch animals with a slow or fast hand movement, and pick one with a thumbs up or by opening and closing the hand.

Eating and animal sounds

When the child opens their mouth, the animal opens its mouth and food flies in with crumbs and hearts. The animal makes its own sound on the first bite and then every few bites.

Children love discovering that their own face controls the character.
